Many of us would consider it trivial to hook up LEDs, potentiometers, buttons, and the like to an Arduino for basic experimentation. However, if you’re brand new to the world of microcontrollers and dev boards, such connections require skills and hardware that may be a barrier to entry to this world. To help with hooking things up on the de facto standard Arduino Uno, the Trainer Uno by Herramienta Electrónica looks like a great option.
The device takes the form of an Arduino shield, and includes: 7 LEDs, 2 potentiometers, a buzzer, 2 buttons, 2 temperature sensors, 2 LDR light sensors, a programmable RGB LED, and 3 servo outputs. With these components onboard, it looks like a great tool for learning the basics (and not-quite basics) of the Arduino ecosystem. As such, examples and exercises will be made available in the future to go along with this hardware.
