As makers, we’re always reaching for that next grand idea – whether that’s an excellent remote-controlled car, a tuneful analog synth, or a robot automated garden! Getting fully immersed in building these fantastic projects, we often fail to pay enough attention to the safety of our workspaces.
The ANAVI Fume Extractor is an open-source, DIY solder smoke absorber to take any potentially harmful fumes away from where you are. By creating a kit that keeps us safe whilst still entertaining our soldering brains, ANAVI has made something incredibly clever!
The ANAVI Fume Extractor contains up to four sensors measuring gas, light, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. With its high-quality OLED display and sensor modules, this extractor gives you a wealth of information about your workspace while actively working to improve it.
Out of the box, the ANAVI Fume Extractor is compatible with the top-rated IoT platform ‘Home Assistant’. Home Assistant enables you to control and monitor your extractor from a distance, providing you with detailed sensor data to download and analyse.
As a completely open-source piece of hardware, it’s super hackable – all of the documentation being made available on ANAVIs GitHub. The default firmware is programmed in Arduino, making it accessible to anybody who would like to edit it. You’re more than welcome to download these resources and try working out how to gather even more data!
