An envelope generator controls the volume of an incoming sound – essential in any Eurorack setup. The front panel has three dials, which form the shape of the outputted sound – the first dial is the attack, or rise time, which controls how quickly the signal reaches its peak volume. The second dial controls the sustain, which is how long the signal stays at its peak and the third dial governs the release time, which is the speed at which the signal returns to 0. There are also outputs for the envelope as well as it’s inverted signal.
Using these parameters, you can create all sorts of exciting sounds using many different methods – like slowly evolving pads or short sharp percussive stabs. Combining this envelope generator with the rest of your Eurorack kit will make the perfect environment for some creative sound signal generation! This device can also be patched as an LFO, allowing for even more exciting possibilities. Alongside being a brilliant module, it’s also got a beautiful design!
